Myra S. Mitzman, Esq. (she/her)
Myra has been practicing law for over 35 years. She received her law degree, Cum Laude, from Fordham University School of Law in New York City. Upon graduating from law school in 1987, Myra began "cutting her teeth" at the New York firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges as an associate in its real estate department. She relocated to the Bay Area
Myra has been practicing law for over 35 years. She received her law degree, Cum Laude, from Fordham University School of Law in New York City. Upon graduating from law school in 1987, Myra began "cutting her teeth" at the New York firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges as an associate in its real estate department. She relocated to the Bay Area in 1989, where she developed her "West Coast chops" at Cooley, Godward, Castro, Huddleson and Tatum's Palo Alto branch office. By the end of 1990, Myra decided that big-firm life wasn't her cup of tea on either coast, and joined the San Francisco boutique law firm of Stein, Lubin & Lerner (now Lubin, Olson & Niewiadomski LLP) where she practiced real estate and general business law for another 4-1/2 years. Myra left Stein Lubin in May 1995 to launch her own solo practice in Oakland.
Myra served as an Articles Editor for the California Real Property Journal and currently serves as an annual update editor to CEB on its Ground Lease Practice, Office Leasing, and Retail Leasing titles. She was a Co-Chair of the Alameda County Bar Association's Business Law section and for several years volunteered as a scorer for the Philip A. Harley Memorial Mock Trial Competition. For over ten years, Myra was a member of Provisors, a highly-regarded community of professionals who serve their clients as trusted advisors.
In her spare time, Myra wrote and self-published six contemporary multicultural fiction novels under the pen name, "Sheryl Sorrentino".
